Hi friends. I haven’t been here for a while — more than a year now. I miss it. And also, I don’t miss it. To everything, turn, turn, turn. Reinvention & evolution through life’s chapters always get me. Every time.

I admit to being required to move a bit too fast for comfort since my last entry back in March 2021 — when I pretty much bullied y’all to “Go, It’s Time” on account of my ‘enough already’ stance regarding the relentless lockdowns in California (see my previous post before this one and laugh, cry or get angry all over again about the senseless torture reasonable folks were trapped in thanks to egregious government overreach, an absence of clear-thinking skills by the masses and outright personal harassment between once-normal human beings about wearing a cloth covering over our faces that, whoops!, didn’t actually protect anyone from the thing that everyone was losing their minds over). That was… interesting.
And, I’ve been working — A LOT — in a most unexpected blessing of a job that I can only describe was dropped from sky compliments of God himself (with likely help from my mom up there, too). If you have kids, enjoy the ‘baby’ that rightfully transferred my attention away from this blog in early 2021 and towards a greater service that will impact our country and children for years to come: Saving America by way of PragerU Kids. For Kindergarten through 12th grades. Our American values.
So now we’re here, another Independence Day. In the earlier days of this blog, I wrote a mix of pithy and trivial pieces about the 4th of July, as well as heartfelt commentaries about my family’s story and love for America. My affection for our USA has always been sincere and alive… but now, as a mom of tween daughters (who is seeing too much leftist-driven garbage in our public schools that I can’t un-see or reconcile as being purposeful in any way), MY LOVE FOR AMERICA IS MUCH MORE SERIOUS.
Why? Because: If we, as parents, don’t immediately start teaching our children the foundational values of America, ‘land of the free and home of the brave’ will cease to exist before we know it.
That’s not alarmist-talk, that is the hard and devastating truth. Freedom is always just one generation away from extinction.
I could go into detail about how and why this is happening and slapping us in the faces, but I’ll let you discover it for yourself if you haven’t already. Start with a little [shocking] something I helped produce and host last year…
Miseducated: The Decline of America’s Schools.
So how do we reject and reverse the damaging “America is evil” narrative that millions of corrupt educators, corporations and mainstream news media are force-feeding our children? We inoculate our kids against it, by being proudly proactive about teaching our children to value freedom, hard work, equality under God, responsibility and our country’s continuing efforts & accomplishments to become a more perfect union.
The United States has never been perfect, but it IS the most blessed and free country on earth. America’s Founding Fathers created something so very special, on ideas, that our children deserve to learn about, be connected to and feel proud of every Independence Day and all year ’round.
Our one-of-a-kind way to do just that? PragerU Kids’ 4th of July Declaration Ceremony. Print it out and do it. (Too bossy? You’ll wonder how you ever celebrated Independence Day without it…. truly.)
The ceremony is quick, meaningful, educational… and it makes me wonderfully-weepy every time I do it with my own children. (No joke.) I mean, we all love the barbecues, parties and fireworks that traditionally celebrate our 4th of July… but, if that’s all the 4th is about, the day loses its meaning and we lose a vital connection to our past. This brief ceremony is designed to remind us how fortunate we are to be Americans, on our nation’s birthday. It’s modeled after the Jewish Passover, probably the best known commemoration of a historical event in the world – it has kept the memory of the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt alive for over 3000 years. As Americans, we need to reconnect to our Founding Fathers and rediscover the meaning behind our country’s creation. And, we need to do it every year – to help us remember and teach our children.
Without memory, life — whether of an individual or a nation — is meaningless.
Contrary to what the left is trying to teach our children…
Freedom is not obscene. Faith is not destructive. Independence is not given, but earned.
It’s up to us parents to preserve and protect our country’s values. Immediately. This is our generation’s war, if you will.
In God We Trust. Liberty. E Pluribus Unum. For. Our. Kids.
