Hi parents. Just in time for holiday shopping, some legit and tragic research about the rise in teen suicide that will make us think twice (or three or four or five times) before snagging and giving our kids their first smartphone this season.
Yeah, you heard me: Can we stop getting kids smartphones before they turn 14?
Yeah, I know it’s part of their social life now… I know all the kids have one… I know we live in the age of social media and all-things tech and the Internet is not the devil… but still. It’s getting REAL.
More and more research is showing how constant amplified comparison to others is breaking down healthy adolescent development and self-perception. THANKS TO KIDS AND YOUNG TEENS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. ALL. THE. TIME.
