This recent FAB Mom segment on CBS Los Angeles news was tough. Tragic. Shocking. Sickening. Unbelievable. But it happened in spite of our disbelief, so we talked about it.
(Pay no attention to the happy picture I posted on the title page of this post — believe me, Pat Harvey and I were *not smiling* as we tackled this story.)
The big takeaway? Us parents need to man-up, walk the walk and add one more ‘ongoing and threatening talk’ to our list to tackle before kids get old enough to dispute that us grown ups don’t know anything and teens are, in fact, invincible. My kids are young, but I am personally not opposed to scaring the you-know-what out of teens in an effort to keep them sane and safe.
My take on live streaming while driving — because it’s the new, addictive influence our kids can’t afford to not be totally scared out of their wits about. And it’s on us to get ahead of it so they do not feel comfortable hopping in cars with kids who do it. WATCH:
