Does being married to a plastic surgeon make you an expert in dressing C-section stitches? It does now. Thanks to my husband‘s savvy trick to miraculously heal a scar invisibly, I got a shot at playing a plastic surgeon on CBS’ The Doctors television show — in the name of spilling some of my tried-and-true tricks for bouncing back in mind/spirit/body after baby.
Because, you know, THE BOOK.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes fun fact — I was nervous as hell when I shot this segment. Why? At first I couldn’t figure it out (I’m part of the CBS family, I’m on LA news twice a week, this topic IS my comfort zone) — there was no logical reason for me to be nervous.
And then, in my car after I was done and leaving the set, it hit me:
This was the first segment I’d done that talked about THE BOOK. (Sure, it just aired this week after dozens of lucky media hits this last month, but we recorded this back in mid-March… before I’d done any other press for THE BOOK.) This was an emotional thing, y’all. Doing this segment made the book REAL. And it felt weird, exciting, confusing and oh-my-now-what-do-I-do-next…
Take a peek at this segment — I’ll be taking appointments for any and all C-section patients that require my services. (Can you tell my hands were shaking when I put the tape across the scar?!?)
