Having toddlers and actually getting your makeup on in the morning doesn’t have to be an oxymoron. (I mean, that is, IF you WANT to put makeup on in the morning in the first place. I won’t lie: There are days when I opt to look like royal junk just because…) BUT! If you need to look your best before 9am in the morning – smack in the middle of during the prime time of toddler breakfast and all-things-Sesame-Street – I’ve got the mother of fabulous new mom beauty tips to help your everyday routine: Hang a mirror in your kitchen. That’s right. On a wall. Permanently. Nevermind that visitors might think you’re vain. A mirror in your kitchen will motivate you to get your face on in the most fabulous way… all while your two year old eats her breakfast (and her sister runs around in her pajamas screaming “Hiiiiiiiiiii!”). I found mine at Home Goods a million years ago (for about a hundred bucks) and decided to move it into my kitchen after I became a mom. Of course, this all comes together because my everyday beauty routine consists of a manageable rigamarole that takes about 6 minutes tops: under eye concealer, pressed powder, blush, simple shadow, mascara, a tad eyeliner and lip gloss. At this point, applying everyday makeup comes second to walking and talking for me. The more you do it, the faster you get.
