Flag? Check. A full grill? Check. A backyard packed with family and friends? Check. Being thankful for our troops? Check. So what did I forget? See if you can figure it out from the picture below:
I FORGOT THE STARS AND STRIPES!
Thanks to LadyP and LilMiss’ little playmate (far left) rightfully and royally decked out in fab patriotic attire – with a bow that looked like fireworks exploding on top of her head – I realized I’d forgotten one of the most important frivolous things that every mom needs to accentuate a party with:
Theme-appropriate outfits… I’m talking about outfits that turn your babies into giggling little mascots for whatever holiday you happen to be celebrating!
Some may call this shallow, but not me. Part of keeping life fun & fab is not being afraid to find joy in the frivolous. Frivolous can make you smile. Frivolous can create more fun for your little ones. Frivolous can make memories. Anyone else with me? Everything in moderation, folks.
I’ve been a longtime believer in making sure your kids look, act and feel more fab than you and serve as walking and screaming signage of life’s festivities… looks like I forgot about my own philosophy. Sure, LilMiss looks like she rose to the occasion with a red bow, but that was purely an accident on my part. How could I? I’m slipping. And I adore my friend and her little firework for inadvertently reminding me to get back on the fab track…
So I got inspired to get ahead for the next opportunity. I fixed my blunder with a quick trip to Babies R Us.
For $15 out-the-door, we are now READY for the 4th of July.
Just don’t ask us to change out of our new duds. We get very angry.
WHAT DID YOU FORGET THIS MEMORIAL DAY?
