Just when I thought I was out-of-the-woods with this pregnancy thing, I find that I’m now dealing with postpartum high blood pressure. We discovered it during my last days of recovery in the hospital and I’ve been freaking out about it ever since (which I’m sure isn’t helping my situation). My doctor explained that this “often happens” after women give birth (something to do with your body’s chemistry readjusting to your old status quo), but I’ve found that I’m actually in the minority. Only about 5% of new mothers develop this problem after the baby is born… I knew there was a catch for having such an easy pregnancy! Thought I’d put the info out there since I was blindsided by this… 🙂
But, no worries… I’m on meds. All will be well soon (except for that ugly pigment line down the middle of my belly… when does that go away?)
Anyone else have any after-preggo advisories?
