Looking for a new mom fitness routine? Use you toddler. Use your baby. Heck, use your spouse. I’m no certified fitness expert, but I can tell you that it takes a village, my fabulous pretties.
In the spirit of the approaching swimsuit season, I want ya to try something every single night. Do it in your bathroom. Do it in your closet. I don’t care where you do it… just do it. TOUCH. YOUR. TOES. Before you brush your teeth, after getting dressed, between putting away dishes from the dishwasher. (I do it at nighttime, in my bathroom… after brushing my teeth if you must know.)
Stand up straight, stretch up tall, then bend all the way over and just hang there. Making sure your fingers touch your little piggies. And exhale. I promise it will make you feel better. It will wash away the day’s stresses in 10 seconds or less. It will quell those “Geez I haven’t been to the gym in days/weeks/months/years” thoughts that nag at you. It might even motivate you to do a couple of pushups against your sink before heading to bed. And your back and legs will feel better. Stretching is one of the best things you can do for your physical health (ask any trainer, athlete or dancer).
But if your bathroom is too boring, then get a giggle by tricking your toddler into playing along. WATCH:
