Just when I thought I was out of the ‘introducing solids’ stage, BAM! It comes back to slap me in the face. Thanks a lot LilMiss (even though I’m very proud of how you loved your peas). And just as I’m entering this stage the second time around, Target goes and sends me a bunch of their NEW up&up food pouches to compare with the baby food brands I already know. So just for kicks, I thought I’d put myself in LilMiss’ shoes. WATCH:
50 calories for an apple pouch. 90 cals for banana. How’s that for an on-the-go mom-snack? Ha! (I kid. Sort of.) But yeah, I know. I let myself off easy. Fruits are always fabulous. I could’ve tried peas… or I might opt to try up&up’s Pea Pear flavor later… or even Banana Pumpkin in the spirit of Halloween. The pouches are pretty much like every other food pouch out there (the ones I’ve experienced anyways): they’re convenient, good for on-the-go, available in a wide range of age stages (1-4)… but are HIGH QUALITY and PRICED LOW. LilMiss – who’s just starting to get a grip on things – has fun holding them (even though she’s too little to self-feed yet). And LadyP has been alternating her regular applesauce-with-a-spoon with the up&up’s squeezable apples (if a toddler likes the Stage 1 foods, then you know I wasn’t lying in my video and they MUST really taste good). In all seriousness… I really am pretty impressed about Target’s up&up brand based on the products I’ve experienced personally… (You remember the diapers?)
So in the spirit of sensible family snacking and introducing solid foods to my second baby in two years, TheFabMom is giving away 15 (FIF-TEEN!) squeezable pouches of Up&Up’s yummy food to one lucky winner. Just leave a comment or drop me an email describing your most memorable (or, messiest) food experience with your baby I’ll take it from there. For kicks, here’s one of mine from the archives. Contest limited to U.S. residents only and ends Friday September 14 at 11:59pmPST.
And regardless if you win, CLICK HERE FOR A BUNCH OF FAB COUPONS FOR UP&UP PRODUCTS! Up&up has over 1,000 products in health care, household care, personal care, baby care and beauty.
DISCLAIMER: This post is sponsored by Target in conjunction with the BabyCenter Blog Network. TheFabMom was generously provided with 15 Up&Up food pouches (banana & apple, if you’re interested to know) to taste-test with my wee ones and report back to you.

My most memorable food experience with my baby was the day I shared my greek salad with her. She loved the tomatoes and cucumber…but not so much the feta cheese. That didn’t stop her from repeatedly putting a piece in her mouth and then rejecting it with the utmost surprise and disgust. Poor thing, that was a lesson that took many rounds to learn!

I love this video. As I fed my 7 month old last night I don’t let an ounce of his sweet potatoes go to waste. I cleaned out the jar myself 🙂 My 5 yr old won’t eat a regular sweet potato but she loves to polish off her brother’s baby sweet potato left overs. Hey…whatever it takes to get in those veggies. I usually buy an organic brand but I may try the Target packs out…since I’m a huge believer in the diapers and wipes.
Oh..btw ..just sharing that I sometimes eat baby food too.
