The other day, my own mom told me over the phone: “My new years resolution for you is to take care of JILL.” Wow. Do I really look like that much of a mess? Not good. That image doesn’t quite go with the mission of this blog… nor do I have time and extra money to seek out some kind of “MessOfAMom.com” URL. So I’m gonna get it together people.
My little project for January is to moisturize, cleanse, remove, cleanse, prime, freshen and brighten like I did when I was in my twenties. Or just try to, anyways. I’m not going to spend mucho bucks or drive myself to far-off places off my beaten path to get the goods to do it with. (After all, Hubby swears that, when it comes to youth/beauty, the not-so-expensive moisturizers often work just as fine as the pricey stuff… and he’s got people calling and visiting him every day to make them look younger.) My renewed effort will be a down-home effort… a few minutes here, a few moments there, an added 3 minutes in my bathroom before I go to bed. No biggie. Call it a ‘winter essentials’ must-do. Spring is comin’ and I want to look like I’ve sprung when March hits. No more “you need to take care of you” comments from Mom. Let’s fix this. My friends at CVS heard about my effort. They sent me a “winter essentials” bag filled with fabulous Johnson & Johnson ‘take-good-care-of-YOU’ and other winter essential products perfect for busy moms.
Between the ROC Multi Correxion 5-in-1 Eye Cream for my dark undereye circles, the Band-Aid Sheer Strips (which work wonders for preventing shoe-blisters if you stick them on the inside of your shoes) and the brand-new Neutrogena MoistureSmooth color stick that actually ‘colors’ your lips as it hydrates them… I didn’t know what to do with myself.
Between January 5-11, 2014, Johnson & Johnson items (and more, mind you) will be discounted in CVS stores (through their circular) across the country! Moms can shop at CVS and take advantage of the savings on Johnson & Johnson products through their local CVS online store circular for complete savings at cvs.com/myweeklyad or get coupon savings at cvs.com/healthyessentials. Fab, no?
But here’s the really inspiring part: Johnson & Johnson has teamed up with MinuteClinic to bring us the “Together We Care” Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Program. The program created 35 impressive, ‘big-money’ nurse practitioner scholarships: 30 Nurse Practitioner Scholarships at $2,500 each and 5 Doctor of Nursing Practice Scholarships at $5,000 each. As part of this You SAVE, we GIVE! campaign, Johnson & Johnson will donate 10¢ on select products, up to $100,000 for nurse practitioner student scholarships. (There’s a good excuse for making the beauty-effort this winter…. we can all support the future of nursing just for buying our fave Johnson & Johnson products.)
